Nicola's story...

I did not really enjoy school but was pleased enough to get 8 respectable GCSEs. My maths teacher said I would be stupid to go into hairdressing and he even stopped speaking to me during my last term at school, but having had a Saturday job in a salon, I knew this was the career for me.

Heworth Grange Awards Night

Heworth Grange School held its' inaugural awards night to recognise and celebrate the achievements of its pupils on Friday 4th December 2009. NEETA Ltd have provided an alternative curriculum programme for Heworth Grange pupils for nearly 3 years and proudly sponsored an award.

2 Pupils were chosen to be recognised for their achievements.

Jamie Scott received an award to recognise his dedication in working towards his ASDAN qualification. Jamie has applied himself, not only in the classroom, but is impressing with his commitment to his work placement. Well done Jamie, keep up the good work!

Amy Chamberlain also received an award in recognition of her achievements. Amy is currently studying towards her ASDAN Cope award and is progressing extremely well. Amy displays a great maturity is the way she applies herself and has become a positive role model to her peer group. Well done Amy!
