Get in. Go far – Raising awareness of Apprenticeships

Written by admin on . Posted in Uncategorized

There’s never been a better time to be an apprentice as there are more high quality
Apprenticeships places available with quality employers in England than ever before.
The ‘Get In. Go Far’ campaign aims to inspire young people to consider an
Apprenticeship alongside university and benefit from the opportunity to earn while
they learn.
By ‘getting in’ with an employer they will be able to ‘go far’ in their chosen career and
learn the skills employers want.
Research has revealed that young people are often unaware of the variety and
quality of Apprenticeship places on offer and the level of qualifications they can gain.
The creative idea behind the campaign is to lift the lid and showcase the range of
roles by featuring seven current apprentices in the campaign’s TV, press, poster and
digital advertising.
In the TV ads we see the apprentices taking ‘selfie’ images in their workplace, and
we hear from them why they became an apprentice and what they like about it. From
launch each apprentice will share their day-to-day experiences and thoughts via
Twitter, Instagram, Blogs, and uploads to YouTube, so young people have the
opportunity to hear first-hand from people like them.
To support the campaign we are asking our Apprentices to submit their “Selfie” photos
to us via E mail at . We will post the images on our Facebook
page as well as submitting them for inclusion on the National Apprenticeship map .
So get snapping!!

Tutors offer good individual coaching and strong support to learners in the workplace that helps learners and apprentices improve their skills and make good progress.

Initial assessment is good and ensures that learners get good support in improving their literacy and numeracy skills and

Leaders, managers and all staff have high expectations of learners and help them overcome any personal barriers to their learning.

Students from Cedars Academy who attend NEETA Ltd for Employability and Skills development hit on a tasty bit of enterprise when they developed a box of chocolates to sell for charity.

Hand crafted boxes filled with Quality Street sold like, well? “Hot cakes!”

£126 was raised and the proceeds from ongoing projects will be donated, at the end of term, to various charities.

Tutor Diane said “the students came up with the idea of doing this with Valentine’s Day in mind;

they had great fun making the boxes and experienced new skills as they calculated the net worth of the box”.
